DealZ · CashBack

Spend the way you already do.
Get a part of it back.

CashBack is the simplest reward in DealZ. When you buy through a DealZ offer that includes CashBack, a share of what you spend comes back to you. No coupon to remember. No hoops. Just a little more value out of a purchase you were making anyway.

  • On selected DealZ
  • A clear percentage
  • Real local businesses

CashBack is offered on selected DealZ. Each offer shows its own rate and conditions before you buy.

How it works

Three steps. Nothing hidden.

CashBack is deliberately easy to follow. You make a purchase through a DealZ offer that includes CashBack, the eligible amount is worked out from the rate shown on that offer, and the value comes back to you.

Step one

You buy

You use a DealZ offer that includes CashBack, at a participating business.

Step two

The eligible amount is worked out

CashBack is calculated from the rate published on that offer, applied to the eligible spend.

Step three

You get it back

The CashBack lands in your velQip account, ready to see and to use.

A simple example

If the offer says 10%, here is what that means.

CashBack is always shown as a plain percentage of eligible spend, so you can work it out before you buy rather than after.

Ten per cent, spelled out

Say you find a DealZ offer at a local restaurant with 10% CashBack, and you spend $100 on an eligible order. Ten per cent of that eligible spend is $10, and that $10 comes back to you.

You still paid the restaurant in full, so the business is not out of pocket at the counter. What changes is that part of the value returns to you afterwards, because the business chose to offer it in order to bring you through the door.

This is an illustration, not a rate card. Every DealZ offer sets its own CashBack rate, and some DealZ offer no CashBack at all — the offer itself always tells you which before you commit.

The difference in one line

CashBack rewards the transaction.
QiPoints reward the journey.

They are two different rewards, and they behave differently on purpose. CashBack is tied to what you spent on a particular offer. QiPoints are the balance you build over time through your activity across DealZ.

Start to finish

From finding the offer to seeing it back

There is no separate sign-up, no code to type at the till and no receipt to post. Everything happens inside the velQip app.

Find a DealZ offer

Browse what is live near you. Offers that include CashBack say so on the offer, along with the rate.

Read what it covers

Each offer sets out the rate, what counts as eligible spend, and anything the business has asked us to note.

Buy as normal

Use the offer at the business. You pay the way you always would — nothing about the visit changes.

See your CashBack

Once the purchase is confirmed, your CashBack appears in your velQip account with the offer it came from.

Worth being clear about: CashBack is available on selected DealZ, not on every DealZ and not at every business in the network. Rates are set per offer and can differ from one business to the next. Where an offer has conditions — a minimum spend, particular items, a date range — those conditions are shown on the offer before you buy.

Everyday spending

The value is in the ordinary week, not the big splurge.

CashBack is not designed to change what you buy. It is designed to give something back on the things already in your week — the Friday dinner, the weekend coffee, the haircut, the family meal out.

  • Nothing extra to do. You are not collecting stamps or clipping anything. You use the offer and carry on.
  • Clear before you commit. The rate is on the offer, so you know what comes back before you spend.
  • Small amounts, repeated. One meal is one meal. A habit of choosing offers that give something back is what adds up.

Two rewards, side by side

CashBack and QiPoints are not the same thing

Both sit inside DealZ, and both give you something back — but they work in different ways. Knowing which is which makes both of them easier to use.

In short: CashBack answers “what do I get back on this?” QiPoints answer “what am I building by turning up?” CashBack is not a points balance, and QiPoints are not cash. You can read the full picture on the QiPoints page.

Across the DealZ network

More businesses, more chances to find an offer that gives back.

DealZ is built around local businesses — cafes, restaurants, salons, services and independent shops. Each one decides for itself what to offer and how, so CashBack shows up where a business has chosen to use it.

That is why the network matters. As more businesses join DealZ, the odds go up that the place you were already heading has an offer worth taking.

  • Set by the business. Each participating business chooses its own offer and its own rate.
  • Visible up front. If an offer includes CashBack, the offer says so before you buy.
  • Growing coverage. New businesses join as DealZ rolls out, so keep an eye on what is live near you.

Why it is built this way

You should not need a strategy to get value out of a coffee.

A reward only works if people can understand it in a sentence. CashBack is a percentage of what you spent on a specific offer, coming back to you. That is the whole idea, and we are not planning to make it more complicated than that.

For businesses

A reward you control, aimed at the customers you want back.

For a business on DealZ, CashBack is a way to give something back to customers without discounting at the counter. You are paid in full for the sale. The reward is offered on your terms, on the offers you choose to attach it to.

  • You set the offer. Whether to include CashBack, at what rate, and on what — those are your decisions.
  • Aimed at real visits. CashBack rewards a completed purchase, so it is spent on customers who actually came in.
  • Sits alongside the rest of DealZ. Use it on its own, or as one part of how you show up in the app.

The point of it

Money that stays local, and still comes back to you.

Every DealZ offer starts with a business that wanted to be found. When you take one up, they get a customer and you get part of your spend back. That is a better trade than a discount that helps neither of you twice.

Questions

CashBack, answered

The things people ask most before their first offer.

Is CashBack available on every DealZ offer?

No. CashBack is offered on selected DealZ, and it is up to each participating business whether to include it and at what rate.

Where an offer includes CashBack, the offer itself shows the rate and the conditions before you buy. If an offer does not mention CashBack, it does not carry it.

Is CashBack the same as QiPoints?

No, and they are not interchangeable. CashBack is a share of your eligible spend on one particular offer. QiPoints are a reward balance you build up through eligible activity across DealZ and then use across participating offers.

CashBack rewards the transaction; QiPoints reward the journey. Neither one is the other in a different form.

How is my CashBack worked out?

From the rate published on the offer, applied to the eligible spend on that purchase. If an offer says ten per cent and one hundred dollars of your order is eligible, ten dollars comes back.

Some offers define eligible spend more narrowly than the whole bill — for example, particular items or a minimum amount. That is set out on the offer.

Do I need to do anything at the counter?

You use the DealZ offer as the offer describes, and you pay as you normally would. There is no separate CashBack code to read out and no receipt to send in afterwards.

When does the CashBack appear?

After the purchase is confirmed. Confirmation timing can vary between businesses and offer types, so the offer is the place to check what to expect.

Once it is confirmed, your CashBack appears in your velQip account against the offer it came from, so you can see where it came from.

Why do businesses offer CashBack at all?

Because it brings customers in and gives them a reason to come back, without cutting the price on the shelf. The business is paid in full for the sale and chooses the reward it is willing to give.

That balance is what makes the model workable for small businesses rather than just for large chains.
